The Power Mac G4 Cube is a Mac personal computer sold by Apple Computer, Inc. between July 2000 and 2001. Designed by Jonathan Ive, the Cube was conceived by Apple chief executive officer (CEO) Steve Jobs, who held an interest in a powerful, miniaturized desktop computer. Apple's designers developed new technologies and manufacturing methods for the product—a 7.7-inch (20 cm) cubic computer housed in clear acrylic glass. The Cube was announced to the general public at the Macworld Expo on July 19, 2000.

The Cube won awards and plaudits for its design upon release, but reviews noted the high cost of the machine compared to its power, its limited expandability, and cosmetic defects. The product was an immediate commercial failure, selling ONLY 150,000 units before production was suspended within a year of its announcement. The Cube was one of the rare failures for the company under Jobs. However, it ultimately proved very influential to future Apple products, from the iPod to the Mac Mini. The Museum of Modern Art, located in New York City, holds a G4 Cube as part of its collection. 

The Cube also represented an internal shift in Apple, as the designers held increasing sway over product design. The New York Times called the Cube "pure [...] industrial design" harkening to Bauhaus concepts. The Cube is an effort by Apple to simplify the computer to its barest essentials. Journalist Jason Snell called the machine an example of Jobs and Ive's obsession with a "Black Box"—dense, miniaturized computers hidden within a pleasing shell hiding the "magic" of its technology. As the Cube has no fan, the design started with the heat sink. The power button that turned on with a wave or touch was accomplished via the use of capacitive sensing. Because of the technology included in the Cube, Apple's engineers had a tough time keeping the total cost low.

This original Power Mac Cube is auctioned by it's first and only owner: a long time Apple enthousiast. 

Completely cleaned inside and outside and in perfect working order. The G4 Cube includes a 450 MHz PowerPC G4 processor with Velocity Engine; 64MB of memory; 20GB of storage; a slot-loading DVD drive on the top of the G4 Cube for easy access; two FireWire® and two USB ports; 10/100BASE-T Ethernet.

The Power Mac G4 Cube comes complete with Apple’s optical mouse and (generic) Apple keyboard, as well as a pair of Apple designed (very rare) Harman Kardon speakers. Included is also the 15 inch Apple Studio Display. This display is powered from the computer, eliminating a separate power cord. and using the Apple Display Connector, an innovative new cable and connector which carries analog and digital video signals.

As mentioned in the description. The confition is 'very good'. Two particular points menioning.
- the plastic socket of the Apple Display Connector is fragile and has seen better days. This is not hindering the working condition.
- one of the distinct features of the Cube is lifting the 'electronic heart' out of the acrylic glass cover. Sometimes it's stuck in it's lock. This can be easily solved by putting a thin plastic beween the lock and the cover.
