Item Description
UK first edition, and first printing of this classic work by an originator of the quantum theory. A preface by Albert Einstein. Translated by James Murphy. Published by George Allen and Unwin Ltd., 1933. Publishers’ original blue cloth boards, lettered in gilt on spine.

Book Dimensions: 22.5 x 14.5 cm and Number of Pages: 224 including index.

Condition
Firm and well bound copy. Light wear to boards’ corners and head and tail of spine, with some faded marks on covers. The book in lovely condition, and clean inside. A name with pencil on top front free endpaper page. Pages are clean with light foxing to free endpaper pages only. All pages are tightly held at the gutter. Inner hinges are very good. The text is clean and bright (Nice Copy) (Please see pictures).

“Max Karl Ernst Ludwig Planck, was a German theoretical physicist whose discovery of energy quanta won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1918. Planck made many substantial contributions to theoretical physics, but his fame as a physicist rests primarily on his role as the originator of quantum theory, which revolutionized human understanding of atomic and subatomic processes. In 1948, the German scientific institution Kaiser Wilhelm Society (of which Planck was twice president) was renamed Max Planck Society (MPS)”.
