Pieux Desirs Imites Des latins du R.P. De la Compe. de Iesus Par P. I. Iurisc. Mis en lumiere pas Boëce a Bolswert.

Oorspronkelijk uitgegeven in 1627. Hier in de Parijse uitgave van Pierre Landry (1640-1701). Uitgegeven in de tweede helft van de 17e eeuw. 

Het boekje bestaat in totaal uit 48 fraai gegraveerde prenten, genummerd 1-46 (de eerste twee prenten zonder nummer). 

8vo formaat (16 x 10.5 cm). Gebonden in de originele lederen band met rijkelijk goudgestempelde rug. 

Band in redelijke goede conditie. De rug inscheurd langs het voorste scharnier. Binnenwerk redelijk goed. Papier iets gebruind en iets vuil. Aan het begin van het boekje enkele lichte vlekken.

Zeldzaam en mooi werk.

Boëtius (Bote) Adamsz. à Bolswert (Bolsward, ca. 1580 – Antwerpen, 25 maart 1633) was een Nederlands kopersnijder en middelmaatgraveur. Deze zoon van Adam Uytama en oudere broer van Schelte à Bolswert woonde vanaf 1609 in Amsterdam, waar hij onafgebroken voor de toonaangevende schilders van die tijd werkte. In 1620 werd hij meester te Antwerpen. Hij zou mogelijk rond 1628 met Peter Paul Rubens in contact zijn gekomen, toen hij meer in Antwerpen verbleef. Boëtius maakte enkele belangrijke gravures naar ontwerp van Rubens, waaronder De drie kruisen en Het oordeel van Salomo.
