Elégante sculpture, statue Art Déco en régule représentant une femme vêtue d'une très belle robe assise à un bureau, les mains posées sur un livre avec son fidèle compagnon à ses côtés, un chien de type lévrier Barzoï, la tête posée sur sa robe.
La sculpture est signée R. MIANDRES (XIX-XXe siècle) en creux sur la terrasse en marbre.
Il s'agit d'un modèle connu, "La liseuse et le lévrier".
Période estimée: début du XXe siècle, 1920.
Fabrication française d'une grand finesse avec beaucoup de détails.
La sculpture reprend l'esprit et le style des chryséléphantines avec ses touches de patine dorée ainsi que les mains et la tête de la femme peintes de couleur ivoire. Superbe robe à patine verte.
En très bon état. Le régule est intact et les couleurs sont extrêmement bien conservées..
Le temps a fait son oeuvre.
La terrasse est un assemblage de plaques de marbre et d'ardoise noire avec sur la face avant des plaquettes en marbre marron aux veines similaires à celles du bois et une grande plaquette de marbre blanc. 
A noter un infime éclat sur le bas de l'ardoise à l'arrière.
Dimensions totales : 19 x 10 x 33 cm.
Socle: 3 x 10 x 33 cm.
Masse: 3,331 kg.
