George 18 people 103 x68cm,the back of the linen is slightly dirty,front is bright,light clean otherwise vg plus George's "Triumphant American Tour" never took place and consequently, his posters were never used. Originally from Zanesville, Ohion, George was best known in South America, where he regularly performed his illusion shows.



The production of posters was a collaborative effort involving the artists who designed them, the illustrators who drew the images on the stone, and the lithographers who operated the presses. At least 10 to 15 highly skilled lustrators were needed to produce a single poster. Working from the mock-up that used to specify the colours to be printed, the layout of the lettering and other graphic details, "black artists" would begin by tracing onto a stone the black outlines of all the elements making up the poster."This image was then ransferred with a damp ink proof to the stones used to add colour. At this point, the colour artists would take over, preparing a separate stone for each colour,a task which required illustrators specialized in lettering and borders, as well as those who drew figurative elements like portraits and animals. Each colour was printed separately according to a fixed sequence: first yellow, then red,and, finally, blue and black. These posters owe their brilliance to the fact that a total of five or six colours were used, including green and a flesh-coloured Pink.
