The illustrations were all new, though it was not the first time, as Rackham admitted in his preface, that he had illustrated several of these old favourites of the nursery in the thirty years and more that, my work has led me through enchanted lands.

Description
Nice copy, beautifully illustrated with a colour frontispiece, 7 full page colour plates, numerous black and white plates, and line drawings throughout the text. Published by George G. Harrap, London, 1942. Orange cloth hard boards with decoration in yellow and black of Owl, Cat and Witch on the front board and Pixie on spine; together with black lettering on front and spine. Illustrated endpapers.

Book Dimensions: 22.5 x 14.5 cm and Number of Pages: 286.

Condition: 
Firm and well-bound copy. External covers are slightly marked, with light wear to boards’ corners and head and foot of spine. Internally’ in very good condition. Neat inscription dated 1943 on front free endpaper page. Firm binding. All colour plates are present. Pages clean, bright and tight throughout (Please see pictures).
