Bijzondere Peugeot 404 Pick-Up

Wanneer we het hebben over een robuust werkpaard afgeleid van een ‘gewone’ personenauto, dan komt de Peugeot 404 Pick-up direct in beeld. Peugeot zag dat toen goed, een tegenstander voor de Japanse pick-ups met een laadvermogen van ’n ton die in de jaren zeventig bijna per dag populairder werden. Dat de 404 een superauto was, wordt nog dagelijks bewezen in Afrika staat-ie nog steeds zijn mannetje als werkpaard.

Geen glimmende bolide maar een leuke lichte benzine pick-up die opvalt in het dagelijkse straatbeeld. Een gave oldtimer voor diegene die net even wat anders wil. De open laadbak is voorzien van een huif zeil zodat er met een gesloten als met een open laadbak gereden kan worden.

De benzine motor start goed, loopt goed, de handgeschakelde 4 versnellingsbak met handel aan het stuur werkt ook naar behoren. De zitbank is bedekt met stoffen hoes, omdat de bank niet meer mooi is en er scheuren en behoorlijke beschadigingen aanwezig zijn.

De auto is compleet. Start en rijdt, remmen, koppeling, versnellingsbak , alles functioneert.

De lak is nog in goede conditie met uiteraard gebruikssporen passend bij een auto van deze leeftijd. De bumpers hebben roest.

De bodem en laadbak zijn hard, het plaatwerk aan de laadbak vertoont minimale roestvorming.

Voor de kenner: opkrikken aan de voorzijde m.b.v. de oorspronkelijke kriksteunen is geen enkel probleem.
