For over thirty years, Alessandro Berlotti collected nudity photography books. This voluminous and amply illustrated book on the history of nudity photography books is his magnum opus. In over 180 pages he provides an overview of the history of nudity photo books. The book is subdivided into several chapters with themes such as pictorialism, the Freikörperkultur, European avant garde, exotic nude photography, male nudity, Japanese photo books etc.. Besides the classics such as Germaine Krull, Man Ray, Hans Bellmer, Bill Brandt, Araki, Robert Mapplethorpe, Pierre Molinier, Jean Saudek and Jean-Loup Sieff, this book also covers the work of some surprising outcasts, and is therefore a great addition to the existing literature, and already a standard work of photography. A book which, together with 'Parr & Badger', should be owned by every photography enthusiast.
