The origins of this Mercedes-Benz W116 go back to the delivery by Van Wijk Automobielbedrijf Mercedes dealer in Overveen-Haarlem, the Netherlands, on February 25, 1977. After years of standing in a heated warehouse, we were able to take over this beautiful example. This Mercedes-Benz was originally delivered in the Netherlands and has always lived in the Netherlands. This says something about this specimen: it is a beautifully preserved specimen that excels in originality. The car is rust-free and in very nice condition. The paintwork is virtually free of scratches and dents and has recently been professionally polished. The original alloy wheels are characteristic. In the interior you will feel like you are in luxury and comfort: the robust Pullmann seats in new condition spring wonderfully softly and from here you can enjoy the beautiful details of the interior, such as inlaid wood. There is also plenty of space and luxury in the back. How could it be otherwise: the S-class is Mercedes' top model. The interior is also well preserved and smoke-free. The robust 2.8 liter 6-cylinder engine is linked to an automatic transmission. Standard equipment included a laminated glass windscreen, exterior mirrors adjustable from the inside, height-adjustable driver's seat, rear and front armrests and power steering. Distinctive options of this example are the Blaupunkt radio, antenna, and Pullmann interior and sliding roof. In short: a stately and comfortable limousine sedan that excels in originality and is an addition to any collection. Mercedes' slogan comes into its own here: "Das Beste oder Nichts". General information about the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W116 The S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's top model and has long been known for its technical and safety innovations and exceptional comfort that few other brands can match. The W116 generation was built from 1972 to 1980 and excelled in configuration: more than 1,000 combinations were possible in specification, color, trim and equipment. No other car had so many combinations possible. The design is relatively long, wide and low with many chrome details. W116 was the first car in the world available with ABS (from 1978) and was the only Mercedes to be named 'Car of the Year' in 1974. According to the jury, the car had 'excellent and balanced qualities in terms of safety, driving comfort and performance'. '.
