"Postman", rare et très beau portrait/tirage albuminé d'époque en noir et blanc par le baron Raimund Von Stillfried Rathenitz, tirage libre non contrecollé sur carton, issu d'un stock marchand.
Légendé au verso par idéogrammes.
Offert sans réserve, comme les autres lots d'une très belle vente à ne pas laisser passer pour les amateurs de photos japonaises anciennes.
Etat, tonalité et contraste, de très bon à superbe.

Le baron Raimund Von Stillfried-Rathenitz est un photographe autrichien qui, avec Felice Beato, est un photographes primitif du Japon de la seconde moitié du XIXème siècle.
Son travail se démarque par une utilisation subtile des réhauts d'aquarelle faits à la main (avec quelques accidents/bavures parfois), là où d'autres qui officieront par la suite (Kusakabe Kimbei, Farsari et autres de l'école de Yokohama) le feront de façon plus industrielle. 
Ses clichés sont toujours très recherchés car plus authentiques et fidèles de la réalité du Japon de cette époque, dont ceux conservés en noir et blanc sans ajouts de couleurs (certains présentés ici).
