Een uiterst zeldzaam en zeer belangrijk stuk van Tom Dixon-ontwerp, de Spiral Floor Lamp, ontworpen in 1989, uitgevoerd door de studio van de ontwerper en door Dixon gecrediteerd als zijn "eerste echte lamp" die "een blijvende passie en interesse in verlichtingsobjecten". Deze prachtige vroege sculpturale lamp bestaat uit een opgerold staal met bladgouden stengelkap, op een koepelvormige basis van verguld staal. De spiraalvormige kap is bewust verend en stimuleert de interactie met de lamp, die op zijn beurt speels danslicht op het plafond projecteert. De lamp is getest. De vergulde afwerking verkeert in een redelijke  vintage staat, met patina en slijtage die overeenkomt met 30 jaar leeftijd en gebruik. Dit zeer gewilde stuk, geproduceerd in een beperkte oplage, maakt zowel aan als uit een behoorlijk statement en zou er in de meeste omgevingen geweldig uitzien. De lamp is te bedienen doormiddel van een voetschakelaar en kan gedimt worden

Tom Dixon is een Engelse ontwerper. Hij staat bekend om zijn atypische achtergrond, zijn rebelse universum en zijn avant-gardistische stijl. Zijn ontwerpen combineren industriële vormen, ruwe materialen en vakmanschap.
