Opera assai rara e bella stampata da Cratander a Basilea. Gaio Cecilio Secondo nacque a Como nel 61 o 62 d.C., adottato dallo zio Plinio il vecchio, ne assunse il cognome; venne educato alla retorica da Quintiliano ed assai presto iniziò la carriera forense mentre la sua carriera politica procedeva di pari passo e nel 100 d.C. lo portò ad essere nominato consul suffectus. Traiano, di cui fu consigliere personale, lo nominò suo legato in Bitinia nel 111 e morì forse due anni più tardi. Lettera di Manuzio ad Aloiso Mocenico senatore veneto che aveva riportato in patria un esemplare dell'epistolario di Plinio e che glielo aveva dato affinché lo pubblicasse.  a bordura disegnato da Hans Holbein per un novm testamentum impresso l'anno precedente e riprodotto.

Eleganti capilettera decorati finemente xilografati. Bella marca tipografica in calce al volume. Qualche nota manoscritta. Esemplare con qualche carta un po' brunita ma praticamente intonso. Completo e molto fruibile. Rarissimo
