A well preserved manuscript page from the remains of part of a Qur'an originating in the state of Bihar, India. The manuscript is from the Meccan Chapter 21 Al-Anbiya, (The Prophets) v37-44. This scripture gives a warning to the Polytheists that unless they change and become believers, that they will be stunned when the hour of retribution comes, and asks questions of the Pagans about God's compassion. although slightly faded and water stained, it retains impact through the distinctive style of script called Bihari (after the State), characterised by wide, heavy and extended horizontal lines, and thin verticals. There are 17 lines of bold well executed script, with the whole in a surround frame comprised of two fine lines. Faded gold leaf  'aya' mark the verses: and a decorative marginal roundel (Juz) marks the 40th verse of the Chapter. Red diacritcal markings provide devotional guidance to the devotee. Some commentary is contained on the reverse.
