Das Moulin Rouge wurde 1889 anlässlich der Weltausstellung in Paris eröffnet. Es sollte ein Ort sein, an dem die Besucher die "Belle Époque" in vollen Zügen genießen können.
Zunächst wurde das Moulin Rouge für Bälle genutzt, bei denen Tänzerinnen vor allem den Cancan und Chahut tanzten. Hier traten die berühmtesten Pariser Stars der Zeit auf, unter anderem La Goulue, Yvette Guilbert, Jane Avril, Mistinguett und „Le Pétomane“ Joseph Pujol.
Ewan McGregor und Nicole Kidman sangen selbst im Moulin Rouge.

Vintage-Poster 85 x 60 cm, Limitierte Auflage mit Nummer, in gutem Zustand.
Hergestellt in den 1990er Jahren vom Verlag Thiel Lübeck  nach dem Original.
Hergestellt auf beschichtetem, poliertem Papier.
Die Farben und der Druck sind von guter Qualität.
Sichtbare Falten auf dem Poster, die auf dem Bild zu sehen sind, wurden nicht auf die Reproduktion übertragen; es ist glatt, auf hochwertigem gestrichenem Glanzpapier.

Der Künstlers Alfred Choubrac (1853-1902) spezialisierte sich auf Plakate für Shows im Pariser Nachtleben, die er hauptsächlich im Atelier Appel, Paris druckte. Neben Chéret und Toulouse-Lautrec gehörte Choubrac zu den bedeutendsten Plakatkünstlern seiner Zeit.
