2 design granito/terrazzo boekensteunen met sterren.
Art Deco periode, datering is omstreeks de jaren 1930/40.
Van granito zien we doorgaans vloeren en ook wel aanrechten.
Deze twee boekensteunen zijn wellicht in opdracht gemaakt.
In de cirkels zien we aan weerszijde gekleurde sterren.
De boekensteunen zijn in een goede conditie.
Gewicht samen is maar liefst 4,7 kilo!

Granito of Terrazzo ontstond honderden jaren geleden bij de bouw van kerken in Italië waarvoor veel marmer en graniet werd gebruikt. De restmaterialen hiervan werden in de betonnen vloeren gestort. Doordat er veel mensen overheen liepen, werd de vloer als vanzelf gepolijst en werden de restjes materiaal weer goed zichtbaar. Men vond dit zo mooi dat men ook andere producten van beton waaraan natuursteenkorrels werden toegevoegd ging maken. Het begin van granito zoals we het nu nog kennen. Er werd veel geëxperimenteerd met kleuren, mengverhoudingen, licht en donker cement, stukjes gekleurd glas en ook schelpjes. De vloeren uit de Italiaanse kerken zijn nog steeds heel mooi. Granito is een tijdloos materiaal. Het heeft een natuurlijke, basic uitstraling en is daardoor met veel stijlen en trends te combineren. 
Wat granito is, qua uiterlijk, is afhankelijk van de gekozen korrels en de kleur van de cement. Veel gebruikte natuursteenkorrels zijn graniet, marmer en hardsteen. Voor de korrels is het mogelijk een toevoeging te gebruiken zoals parelmoer of glas. Door afwijkende keuzes in kleur en materiaal toevoegingen krijgt terrazzo een andere uitstraling.
