Nikon D750 with IR (infrared) conversion.
converted for infrared photography. IR block filter removed and a specific IR spectrum filter installed
The choice of body or rather sensor came about for me because of the amount of information you can capture with it. (lots of light, lots of pixels, and a large color depth). The price is of course also a consideration.
I mainly use it myself for black and white conversions.
It produces unique plates that you normally don't see and each have their own character.
Infrared photography (IR) is possible for everyone, provided the right equipment is available.
What do I need to be able to take infrared photographs?
A camera that is sensitive to infrared.
All cameras that are delivered from the factory are constructed in such a way that they do not allow IR to pass through.
All types of digital cameras are suitable for IR conversion.
Adjusted white balance in the camera.
Infrared photography: If you want to get started with infrared photography without compromise, there is a solution: removing the hot mirror filter in the camera by a specialized company. To photograph infrared light, you need to bypass this blockage. You can do this by placing an infrared filter in front of the lens. Such a filter blocks visible light and only lets infrared light through. The disadvantage is that now very little light falls on the image sensor. After all, the hot mirror blocks almost all infrared light and the infrared filter does the same with visible light. The result: very long shutter speeds. To bypass these long shutter speeds, you will need to replace the hot mirror filter in the camera.
