Prachtige Delftsblauwe tegel uit de eerste helft van de 17e eeuw met de afbeelding van de driekoppige tulp.
Tulpen waren in het begin van de 17e eeuw symbolen voor voorspoed en extreme rijkdom en daarom een geliefd onderwerp voor de Delftse pottebakkers, kostte een tupebol rond 1600 nog 6 jaarsalarissen van een ambachtsman in 1637 was dat gestegen tot de prijs van een compleet Amsterdams grachtenpand voor een bol, alleen de allerrijksten konden zich de bloemen veroorloven en  de tulp was dus een symbool voor welstand en goed leven. Deze 400 jaar oude tegel is geheel gaaf en ongebroken, geheel linksboven in de hoek is een zeer kleine glazuurrestauratie die nauwelijks zichtbaar is, afmeting 13 x 13 centimeter en 16 milimeter dik.
een prachtig voorbeeld van zeer oud Hollands plateel dat niet mag ontbreken in de collectie van plateelverzamelaars
