Deze kandelaar is een combinatie van smeedijzer en hout, met een rustieke uitstraling en handgemaakt uit de late 19e eeuw tot de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw kunnen stammen, ongeveer tussen 1880 en 1930.

Het gekartelde ijzeren ontwerp met decoratieve krullen wijst op traditioneel vakmanschap. Dit soort smeedwerk was populair in landelijke gebieden en werd vaak lokaal vervaardigd.
De bewerkte houten voet met uitgesneden details, vaak geassocieerd met landelijke en volkskunst (bijvoorbeeld in de Alpenregio's, Duitsland, Frankrijk, of Centraal-Europa).
Rustieke stijl: deze kandelaar lijkt functioneel maar ook decoratief te zijn geweest, wat vaak werd gezien in boerderijen of kleinere huizen waar handgemaakte objecten gangbaar waren.
Deze stijl komt vaak voor in Centraal- en Zuid-Europa, zoals in Oostenrijk, Zwitserland, Frankrijk (Alpenregio), of Zuid-Duitsland. 
Deze is afkomstig van een ambachtsman die gespecialiseerd was in smeed- en houtwerk.
In de late 19e eeuw werden dit soort kandelaars vaak lokaal geproduceerd. In de vroege 20e eeuw bleef dit vakmanschap bestaan, met sommige varianten geïnspireerd door de opkomende Art Deco-stijl.
