Philips N4404 Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder (1969-1972)

Introducing the Philips N4404, a distinguished reel-to-reel tape recorder produced between 1969 and 1972, exemplifying Philips' commitment to high-fidelity audio during the golden age of analogue recording.

This stereo recorder features a 4-track configuration, allowing for versatile recording and playback options. It operates at two tape speeds—3¾ inches per second (ips) and 7½ ips—accommodating various recording needs. The frequency response ranges from 40Hz to 15kHz at 3¾ ips, and 40Hz to 18kHz at 7½ ips, ensuring detailed sound reproduction. With a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 50 dB, the N4404 delivers clear and dynamic audio playback.

Designed for user convenience, the N4404 includes a built-in amplifier delivering 2 x 2.5 watts of output power, complemented by integrated 6 x 4-inch elliptical speakers, providing a complete audio solution without the need for external components.

This particular unit is in good condition, and exhibiting signs of use. Due to age, it requires service maintenance, which is normal for tape recorders such as belts, pinch rulers etc for the optimum results and serviceability for many years to come
