Malick Sidibé: "Vue de dos" - Photographie vintage unique, tirage du photographe (2003), signé et portant son tampon au dos.
Ce tirage vintage provient d'une collection inédite et unique de 15 photographies acquises auprès de Malick Sidibé et / ou de sa famille.
Au début des années 2000, après avoir rencontré un succès international, Malick Sidibé avait changé de style, et réalisé plusieurs portraits de femmes (amies et modèles) vues de dos. Sidibé avait commencé à développer cette pose dès la fin des années 1980. Ici, il systématise l’attitude sensuelle et impersonnelle véhiculée par cette pose, en utilisant parfois les motifs noirs et blancs des pagnes comme éléments de composition. Avec cette série, Sidibé interroge les conventions établies du portrait, et laisse le spectateur se poser des questions sur l’identité de la personne, à mi-chemin entre pose et attitude naturelle. De son propre aveu, un érotisme subtil émane de ces photos: "J'aime photographier les belles ondulantes en pagne ou en boubou, car, vues de dos, les femmes plaisent mieux aux hommes, et on voit mieux leurs tresses, même si elles tournent parfois la tête pour un clin d'œil aguicheur "
