Original collotype from the portfolio "Egon Schiele als Zeichner" by Otto Benesch; printed in a small edition  in Vienna by the State Print Office of Austria (Staatsdruckerei Österreich) on high quality paper, 1951.
Very difficult to find as the majority are now in private collections.

SOLD WITH FRAME: lacquered wooden frame; double passe-partout (lower gold shimmering); matt glass pane, which minimizes the reflection of the frame.

motif size: 26 cm x 18 cm

Please see pictures for details about its exact condition: Motif is very good; upper passe-partout is slightly dirty, the paint on the frame is slightly scratched in a few places.

About the phototype technique:
Phototype is the highest quality printing process ever, with only three phototype printshops left in the world today. The colour image is broken down into up to 25 colours and then printed on top of each other in as many print cycles. The finished image achieved a colour quality that was almost comparable to that of an oil image.
This technique was mainly used for illustrating books or prints in small editions. It makes possible to achieve prints of incredibly high original fidelity.
