Microsoft MS DOS Operating System Disks AMSTRAD 1986 - Computer software - In original box
The story begins in 1981, with the purchase by Microsoft of an operating system called QDOS, which after some modifications became the first version of the Microsoft operating system MS-DOS 1.0 (Micro Soft Disk Operating System).
In 1982, version 1.25 was released, with support for double-sided floppy disks.
It was not until the following year, 1983, that the system gained more functionality with version 2.0. This version added support for 10 MB IBM hard disks and the ability to read and write 5.25″ floppy disks with a capacity of 360 Kb. In version 2.11 of the same year, new keyboard characters were added.
In 1984, Microsoft released version 3.0 of MS-DOS, which added support for high-density 1.2 MB disk drives and the ability to install a hard drive with up to 32 MB.
That same year, support for Microsoft networks was added in version 3.1.
