Traditional percussion instrument from the Marron in Suriname.
The drum has six tuning pins. The membrane is made of goat skin.

These cedar wood drums are used by winti rituals, religious dances and music. They are also used as communication instrument by sending of messages.
Characteristic is that the diameter of the base of the body of the drum is larger than that of the head.
Under the base is a carved foot on which the drum rests.
The body of the drum is always decorated in relief. This drum is decorated with a snake motif
