Luxury edition with a hand coloured frontispiece. In hardback green percaline, with gilt title to spine. Boards are a little rubbed, especially at corners.  

Illustrations by Crafty, Anker, Richter, Ribot, Ch. Marchal, Schüler, Rubens, Paul Roux, Germain Pilon, Lucas della Robbia, Le Nain, Pierre Breughel, Chardin, etc. 

There is some sporadic foxing, and evidence of a few pages having been skilfully repaired. (see photograph)
