Comme de l'an 40 a été écrit par L.G Villeroy( Lauréat de l'académie Française) en 44 et publié en 45.

 Ce livre, nous dit l'auteur, ne paraitra que lorsque les derniers soldats allemands auront quitté notre sol. 

Ce récit sombre et acide avec une préface presque pamphletaire, nous livre la vie en captivité de l'auteur avec ses compagnons d'infortune. 
Présence d'une belle dédicace avec le nom du destinataire, vraisemblablement ancien compagnon de captivité, passé au blanc. 
L'édition est de mille sur Alfa.
Ce volume  porte le numéro LVII sur CCC (57 sur les premiers 305) avec des planches qui ont été coloriées à la main. 
Les Illustrations sont de:
Jacques Bidault, Maxime Rihet, André Finot et Charles Pinson 1er Grand Prix de Rome, tous les 4 compagnons de captivité.
