An old carved Inuit soapstone container with sliding lid, adorned with carved figure of a walrus, measuring circa 17cm in length and weighing 1966g. The vessel was probably used as a Quliq, a seal blubber lamp. Sings of wear and use lead us to believe that it is an old object, probably first half of the 20th century or older. 

Condition: very good, no significant damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age. 

This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
