Gold finger ring comprising a D-section hoop and smooth shoulders with central rectangular bezel inscribed with the letters  ‘VICTRIX’ in capitals: ‘victorious’. 
VICTRIX was an ancient Roman epithet variously applied to Venus, Diana and other goddesses, and used for several Roman legions and fortresses, indicating a specific military achievement or success. The Sixth Legion, for instance, was known as Legio VI Victrix. The title "Victrix" was often awarded after a legion distinguished itself in a significant battle or campaign.
