Spider shaped wall sconce made by my grandfather who was a blacksmith in Piran, Slovenia from 1950s to 1990s. He avoided welding the iron so most of his works are made entirely by hand techniques (forging, cuting, chiseling ...). The hairs on the spiders legs for instance are cut soley with the help of a blacksmith's chisel.

Spider shaped decorations were common on the exterior of Slovenian houses in the past. This piece can however also be used as an ambiet light.

The item carries my grandfathers original stamp.
