Batticarne in acciaio prodotto in Francia alla fine del XIX secolo.
Sul manico presenta la scritta incisa "ACIER FON", ovvero "acier fondù" (acciaio fuso).
Materiale: acciaio "ossidabile".
Dimensioni: lunghezza 26,3 cm, spessore 1,1 cm, testa 10x9 cm.
Peso: 700 g circa.
Ottime condizioni, completamente ossidato

La datazione dell'oggetto può essere ricavata da due elementi: 
1 - La produzione industriale di utensili da cucina in acciaio "ossidabile" inizia soltanto dopo l'introduzione del convertitore di Bessemer, ovvero dopo il 1856 (prima d'allora l'acciaio era usato solo per oggetti di lusso).
2 - L'acciaio "ossidabile" viene gradualmente sostituito dall'acciaio inossidabile a partire dagli anni '20 del XX secolo.
Perciò, l'oggetto può essere collocato con buona approssimazione alla fine del XIX secolo. 

Steel meat tenderizer made in France in the late 19th century.
The handle is engraved with the inscription "ACIER FON," meaning "acier fondù" (molten steel).
Material: "non-stainless" steel.
Dimensions: length 26.3 cm, thickness 1.1 cm, head 10 x 9 cm.
Weight: approximately 700 g.
Excellent condition, completely oxidized.

The dating of the object can be deduced from two elements:
1 - The industrial production of "non-stainless" steel kitchen utensils began only after the introduction of the Bessemer converter, that is, after 1856 (before then, steel was used only for luxury items).
2 - "Non-stainless" steel was gradually replaced by stainless steel starting in the 1920s.
Therefore, the object can be dated with a good approximation to the late 19th century.
