Descrizione:
Suggestiva scultura di ispirazione Vanitas, raffigurante un teschio umano in terracotta patinata, adagiato su una base anch'essa in terracotta, con inserti di stoffa drappeggiata. L’opera rievoca il tema barocco della caducità della vita e della fugacità dei beni terreni, con un forte impatto visivo e simbolico. La presenza dei tessuti, realistici e logorati, accentua il senso di transitorietà e decadimento.

La patina e lo stile rimandano a una produzione artigianale tra la fine dell’Ottocento e l’inizio del Novecento, probabilmente destinata a contesti teatrali, accademici o decorativi di gusto romantico-macabro. Sono visibili segni di usura del tempo e tracce di interventi di restauro, che ne testimoniano la storia e l'autenticità.
