This Jaguar 340 is a right-hand-drive example from 1968, equipped with the desirable Overdrive function. It is a neat and honest car that is in solid technical condition. The previous owner appears to have maintained the vehicle with great care, focusing primarily on the mechanical aspects. Unfortunately, the documentation has taken a back seat over the years and is largely missing.

Bodywork & Paint:

The bodywork of this Jaguar 340 was restored and completely resprayed several years ago. The paint remains in good condition overall, with minor signs of use such as small scratches and light surface wear. The chassis is solid, showing only superficial surface rust. There are no structural rust issues or signs of severe corrosion. The chrome trim is in fair condition with a nice shine, and the rubber seals around the windows and doors are intact and fit well.

Mechanical Condition:

Mechanically, the Jaguar is in good condition. The engine runs smoothly and consistently, maintaining proper oil pressure. There is some light oil sweating. The manual gearbox shifts smoothly through all gears, and the overdrive operates as it should. The car starts without issues, both cold and warm. The brakes function well and engage evenly. The tires date from 2013, so replacement is recommended in the near future. The suspension and shock absorbers still feel solid. The engine bay presents well, without excessive oil residue. Overall, the car is roadworthy, though minor improvements could raise it to an even higher standard.

Interior:

The interior of this Jaguar 340 is tidy but shows signs of use. The seats have likely been reupholstered at some point and remain presentable with only light wear. The wooden dashboard and veneer trim are well preserved, with some minor hairline cracks typical of older Jaguars. The floor mats show wear. The headliner appears original but is discolored due to age. Electrical components such as the dash lighting are not functioning properly, although the blower and windshield wipers are in working order.

Documentation:

Unfortunately, the original service and restoration history of this Jaguar has been lost. However, the original owner's manual is included, featuring handwritten notes and modifications. While this limits transparency regarding its past, the car clearly runs well and has been maintained – something that is evident during a test drive. Import duties have been paid (where applicable), but further paperwork is not available.
