Eerste oorlogs productie jaar Karlsruhe 1914.

Een van de meest talrijke en belangrijkste wapens in de inventaris van de Fußartillerie (voetartillerie) was de Model 1910 21cm Mörser (bij de troepen gewoon bekend als "Der Mörser"). Toen de oorlog in 1914 begon, kon het Duitse leger 216 van deze grote houwitsers inzetten. Vanwege het grote projectiel en het indrukwekkende bereik werden deze houwitsers al snel het standaard indirecte vuurwapen. Zoals veel grote kaliber wapens uit die tijd, moest de 21cm Mörser vanwege het gewicht in twee ladingen door motortransport worden gesleept. Op deze foto poseert een bemanning van een 21cm Mörser 10 met de vroege korte 2,57m (8 ft 5 inches) L/12 loop naast hun Mörser. Het 114 kg (252 lbs) zware hoogexplosieve projectiel bevindt zich in de laadbak die handmatig omhoog werd gezwaaid tot op gelijke hoogte met de kamer toen de loop waterpas werd gezet.
