Antieke rozenkrans – gordelrozenkrans – met medaillon gedateerd 1830

Bijzondere en vermoedelijk 19e-eeuwse gordelrozenkrans (ook wel "Pater Noster" genoemd), bestaande uit zwart glanzende houten kralen aan metalen schakels en een langwerpig kruis met metalen corpus Christi. Dergelijke rozenkransen werden niet enkel in de hand gehouden, maar ook als devotioneel voorwerp aan de gordel gedragen – vooral door geestelijken of leden van religieuze orden.

Het medaillon toont de datum 1830, mogelijk verwijzend naar de verschijning van de Heilige Maagd Maria aan Catherine Labouré in Parijs (die de Miraculeuze Medaille inspireerde). De precieze datering van deze rozenkrans is niet zeker, maar op basis van stijl en duidelijke slijtage van het corpus wijst het gebruik op een lange en eerbiedige verering.

Materiaal: Houten kruis met metalen (brons?) corpus, houten zwarte kralen 

Afmetingen kruis: 15 cm lengte en 8 cm breedte
Lengte rozenkrans: 108 cm.

Gebruikt maar in goede staat, duidelijke patina en slijtage op het kruis

Een authentiek en spiritueel erfstuk – geliefd bij verzamelaars van religieuze antiek en devotionalia. 
Komt uit een oude verzameling.
