Meissen - Teapot - Porcelain

Hand-painted Meissen Teapot, dating from the Knauff period (1850-1924). This grand teapot, weighing a substantial 2 kilograms, embodies the lavish elegance of the Rococo style, making it a truly captivating addition for any discerning collector. The teapot boasts a vibrant fuchsia (deep pink) ground color, beautifully contrasted with exquisite white cartouches. Each white panel is meticulously hand-painted with charming figural scenes, depicting elegantly dressed individuals in idyllic romantic settings – a hallmark of Rococo decoration. Further enhancing its beauty, intricate gold scrollwork and a delicate molded flower on top of the lid, showcasing the renowned skill of Meissen's craftsmanship and decorations. The design is completed by an ornate gilt-brass handle with a porcelain insert, adding to its luxurious appeal. Condition Report (Please Read Carefully): Beyond its "2nd choice" designation, the teapot is in relatively good condition for its significant age, with its overall visual impact remaining mostly unaffected by the following minor imperfections: - Several small, discreet chips are present around the opening where the lid rests. These are not highly visible when the lid is in place and do not detract significantly from the teapot's overall appearance. - There is some abrasion to the gold gilding and painted decoration in various areas, consistent with age and handling. This wear is mostly subtle and does not heavily influence the teapot's rich decorative scheme. - One of the brass rings around the porcelain handle has a small part missing. This imperfection is discreetly located, not easily visible, and crucially, does not affect the stability or integrity of the handle. - An internal crack is present within the spout where the tea flows out. This crack is barely visible from the exterior and, most importantly, does not impede or affect the regular pouring of liquids. - The flower on top of the lid might have been restored, although this is not clear. Dimensions: Total Height (with handle): 23 cm Pot Height: 16 cm Total Width: 27 cm Pot Width: 20 cm Net Weight: Approximately 2 kg Shipping: This item will be carefully packed and shipped with full insurance and tracking. Shipping Rates within Europe (2-3kg postal package + 1,000€-2,500€ insurance): Zone 1 (West, Southern and West Central Europe) = 41,80€ + 21,75€ Zone 2 (East Central, Eastern and Northern Europe) = 50,60€ + 21,75€
