A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Ferdinandus Gagliano filius Nicolai fecit Neap. 1791. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears, wears, and some small repaired cracks, grafted scroll, new fingerboard, new ebony set up, new bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent medium to high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of softly flamed maple with matched sides, neck and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 590 mm and the back 358 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 165 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm. Full size. The sound is very sweet, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist. Shipping with DHL worldwide
