Dit erg verfijnde beeld van Jezus met het Heilig Hart is vervaardigd uit gegoten plâtre de Paris en dateert vermoedelijk uit de eerste helft van de 20ste eeuw.

Christus staat in een rustige en waardige houding, met lange, vloeiende haren en een expressie van innerlijke ernst. Met één hand opent Hij zijn gewaad, terwijl de andere het vurige, door stralen omgeven Heilig Hart aanwijst – het universele symbool van zijn goddelijke liefde, zijn offer en zijn mededogen met de mensheid. Het hart is bekroond met een vlam en omringd door een doornenkroon, als verwijzing naar zijn lijden. Op Jezus' handen zijn ook de stigmata zichtbaar, verwijzend naar de kruiswonden en zijn lijden, dat onlosmakelijk verbonden is met de verering van het Heilig Hart.

De fijne detaillering in de plooien van het gewaad en de houding getuigen van zorgvuldige afwerking.  De bijzondere aandacht aan de anatomische zachtheid van de handen en het gelaat verlenen het geheel een ingetogen sacraliteit. De voeten van Jezus rusten op een afgeronde sokkel, wat zorgt voor een evenwichtig en harmonieus geheel.

De devotie tot het Heilig Hart kent diepe wortels in de christelijke traditie en werd vooral verspreid vanaf de 17de eeuw. Dit beeld is een mooi voorbeeld van deze spirituele verering in huiselijke vorm.

Het verkeert in goede staat met enkele lichte ouderdomssporen en oppervlakkige gebruikssporen, passend bij de aard van het materiaal. Geen zichtbare breuken of restauraties.
