Exceptional set of 4 collectible pieces signed by Max LE VERRIER.
Iconic French sculptor of the Art Deco period, Max Le Verrier is worldwide renowned for the finesse of his castings and the quality of his patinas. This lot gathers four iconic pieces from his repertoire, illustrating his penchant for history and mythology.
Lot details:
Rectangular catchall "Course d'Herakles": An ancient chariot scene titled on the back "Course d'Herakles around year 52". Beautiful twisted border and two-tone patina.
Small bowl "Seal of the University": A faithful representation of the seal of the University of Paris dating from 1292. Antique green patina.
Small bowl "December": From the series "The Months of the Year", depicting a medieval scene by the fireside. Golden patina.
“Pegasus” bowl: Representation of the famous winged horse of Greek mythology. Subtle green patina.
Technical specifications
Artist: Max Le Verrier (each piece bears the artist's signature on the reverse).
