As its name suggests, it is a reddish orange color, characterized by its warm hue. Araishu was already in use during the Heian period, and was used for the costumes of aristocrats and buildings. In particular, in Buddhist art, it is often used in the decoration of Buddhist statues and in the architecture of temples, and is considered a sacred color.
