Available here is a certified 4/4 violin bow made by Eugène Sartory in Paris, France in 1920, a period widely regarded as his golden period. Sartory is one of the most sought-after French bow makers of the 20th century, celebrated for combining the strength and balance of Tourte with a modern playing feel. His bows are favored by generations of professional soloists, including Isaac Stern, David Oistrakh, and Itzhak Perlman, for their reliability, projection, and superb handling.

This bow has been certified authentic by Pierre Guillaume, stating that all stylistic elements as original Sartory work. Weight was last recorded at 58grams in January 2025. Notably, Sartory bows of this golden period and caliber typically command prices well above USD15,000 in retail settings, reflecting their esteemed reputation. 

The round stick is made from dense, dark brown pernambuco wood, mounted in silver and ebony, with its original Sartory model head. A professional head graft has been performed, and as confirmed by Guillaume, the work is stable and of excellent quality. The frog is classic Sartory style with a silver-lined button and mother-of-pearl eye. 

The bow was recently rehaired & serviced in June 2025 by Guillaume, and has been regularly maintained and professionally serviced over time. Sold as is! This bow feels absolutely wonderful to play—it sits firmly in the string, draws a powerful and even tone, and offers refined balance and control. A perfect companion for a serious performer or discerning collector.

I am selling this bow as I am preparing to go overseas for further studies, and I sincerely hope it finds a new home with someone who will cherish it.
