Horloge murale ancienne de la célèbre marque française Japy Frères, fabriquée vers l'année 1880. Il s'agit d'un modèle de style "Oeil de bœuf", reconnaissable à son boîtier ondulé de forme ovale et à sa décoration en nacre incrustée.

Le mouvement est entièrement d'origine, mécanique, avec balancier, et fonctionne parfaitement. L'horloge sonne les heures avec un timbre clair et harmonieux. Elle est vendue avec son balancier et sa clé de remontage d'origine.

Le cadran est en porcelaine blanche avec des chiffres romains noirs. Le boîtier est en bois massif travaillé, orné de motifs floraux en nacre. Le mécanisme porte le poinçon gravé de Japy Frères avec trois étoiles, preuve d'authenticité.

L’horloge présente une petite fissure visible sur la partie supérieure du boîtier (voir photos) et ne possède pas de verre frontal, bien que cela soit peu visible en raison de son design.

Ce type d’horloge était très populaire en France durant la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle. C’est une pièce décorative très recherchée par les collectionneurs, tant pour son esthétique que pour la qualité de son mouvement.
