Collar box in an uncommon horse shoe shape, beautiful leather box, great patina
These leather boxes were used to store starched white shirt collars.  Now it could be used as a nice object or a box to store small items.  And, if you are a true vintage gentleman and still wear starched collars, you could still use it :)
