Questo splendido esemplare di ambra fossile messicana proviene dalla regione di Simojovel, nello stato del Chiapas (Messico), un'area geologicamente straordinaria per la formazione di ambre trasparenti e policrome risalenti al Miocene inferiore. Levigata e lucidata con grande cura, la superficie rivela una straordinaria complessità interna fatta di inclusioni vegetali, pigmentazioni naturali e zone cangianti che reagiscono alla luce obliqua o UV.

Ambiente di formazione: Antica foresta tropicale subtropicale, simile alle attuali selve umide centroamericane
Albero produttore della resina: Hymenaea mexicana (specie estinta della famiglia delle Fabaceae)
Composizione chimica: Polimeri di composti organici a base terpenica, formula approssimativa C₁₀H₁₆O
Fossilizzazione: Lenta polimerizzazione in ambiente privo di ossigeno, che ha permesso la conservazione di strutture interne, inclusioni e cromatismi
