- Tamara de Lempicka (1898–1980) was a Polish-born Art Deco painter known for her bold, glamorous, and stylized portraits of aristocrats, celebrities, and social elites. Her signature style combines Cubist-inspired geometry with smooth, neoclassical elegance, creating an aesthetic that embodies the luxury and modernity of the 1920s and 1930s.

After fleeing the Russian Revolution, Lempicka settled in Paris, where she became a leading figure of the Art Deco movement. Her works are characterized by strong lines, sharp contrasts, and an almost sculptural quality. She often portrayed independent, sensual women, reflecting the changing role of women in the early 20th century.

Her most famous works include "Portrait of Madame Allan Bott" (1930), "Young Lady with Gloves" (1930), and "Self-Portrait in a Green Bugatti" (1929), all of which exemplify her bold and sophisticated approach to portraiture.

Tamara de Lempicka's paintings are among the most sought-after in the Art Deco market, frequently selling for millions of dollars at auctions. Her "Portrait de Marjorie Ferry" (1932) was sold for $21.2 million at a famous auction house in 2020, marking a record for her work.

Her distinctive style, association with the Roaring Twenties, and enduring influence on modern fashion and design make her paintings highly valuable. Collectors and museums prize her works for their iconic aesthetic, historical significance, and rarity, as she produced a limited number of paintings.

"Groupe de Quatre Nus" (circa 1925), is a striking example of Lempicka's sensual and sculptural approach. Depicting four intertwined nude women, the piece is both intimate and monumental. Their stylized bodies, bold makeup, and geometric hair echo classical forms but are rendered with Lempicka's modern, almost cinematic flair. The composition radiates a sense of eroticism and female power, with a cool detachment that is typical of her work.

Tamara de Lempicka remains one of the most collectible female artists of the 20th century. Her works, including "Groupe de Quatre Nus", are in high demand due to their distinctive aesthetic and cultural impact.
