Paul Hoff is a ceramics and glass artist born in 1945 in Stockholm. He studied at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm from 1963 to 1968. After completing his education, he was hired by Gustavsberg's Porcelain Factory, where he worked from 1969 to 1974. At the factory, he joined renowned ceramic artists such as Berndt Friberg, Lisa Larson, and Stig Lindberg.

During his time at Gustavsberg, Paul primarily designed dinnerware, collector plates, and figurines. In the 1970s, he transitioned to working as a designer at Kosta Boda glassworks. This period is particularly noted for the creation of his highly sought-after art glass plates, bowls, and vases. His pieces were characterized by vibrant colors, soft shapes, and intricately crafted animal motifs.

While at Kosta Boda, Paul established his own company, "Paul Hoff Design." Since then, he has received freelance assignments from several Swedish ceramics and glass manufacturers, including Målerås, Rörstrand, and Skruf.
Collectors are particularly eager to obtain pieces from the well-known series featuring endangered animals created by Gustavsberg. This collection consists of large stoneware figurines, including a mountain fox, a toad, and an eagle owl. The series was produced in limited edition for the historic department store NK in Stockholm.
