FIRST edition in original printed covers. 

A fine copy, untrimmed -- very slight browning on TP of Vol I, and one razor tear (3 cm) on a page. The covers are very well preserved, and even the spine is in excellent shape.

Here is a typically Montpellierian approach to pathology: methodical in establishing ordered principles and classifications, and philosophical in reflecting on the nature of disease beyond mere symptomatology. Batigne—a seasoned professor of anatomy and clinical medicine at Montpellier—based his treatise as a comprehensive distillation of eight years of his teaching in theoretical and, particularly, clinical pathology. volume I develops general pathology (causes, mechanisms, fever/inflammation doctrines, diagnostic method, prognosis, and general therapeutic indications), while volume II treats special pathology by organ systems and disease classes, interleaving case observations with therapeutic notes.
