A prominent figure of 1980s New York graffiti culture, his work could be found in every subway station in the city. Haring was able to reach a wide audience through his humorous, accessible imagery and saturated colours. Untitled (family)' features two parental figures embracing their child with love, indicated by the radiant heart situated above their heads. Keith Haring often produced politically charged artworks but also wanted to communicate the importance of love and kindness.
