Pino Daeni (Giuseppe Dangelico, 1939–2010) wurde am 8. November 1939 in Bari geboren. 
Er studierte zunächst Kunst im Art Institut in Bari und wechselte 1960 zur Academy von Brera in Mailand, wo er die Aktmalerei erlernte und perfektionierte.

Pino Daeni wurde bekannt durch viele romantische und sinnliche Darstellungen von Frauen und Gruppen, die das Familienleben seiner Zeit portraitieren. Darüberhinaus produzierte ca. 3000 Buchtitelseiten.

"The Dancer" ist eines seiner bekannten Werke und entstand im Original im Jahr 2005. Es zeigt eine Flamenco-Tänzerin in einem Club oder Restaurant. Es ist ein gutes Beispiel für seine Fähigkeit Bewegung und Ausdruck seiner Modelle einzufangen und darzustellen. 

In einigen seiner Werke tritt der Künstler selbst in Erscheinung. So auch in "The Dancer", wo er im Hintergrund, am Tisch sitzend zu sehen ist. 
 
Das Interesse an Pino's Werken ist immer noch sehr groß. Seine Bilder sind in Gallerien weltweit zu finden und seine Giclées erzielen Höchstpreise.
