This timepiece is a distinguished and highly collectible example from the iconic Omega Constellation line, representing the pinnacle of Swiss watchmaking from its era. It is a gentleman's watch that exudes luxury, precision, and the classic mid-century design language for which Omega is renowned.

Based on the reference number 168.010, this specific model was manufactured in the late 1960s, approximately between 1967 and 1969. While often associated with the 1970s, the Ref. 168.010 is a definitive product of the 1960s, a golden age for mechanical watchmaking. 

The caseback is the signature " Observatory Medallion", featuring a detailed embossed design of an astronomical observatory surrounded by eight stars. These stars symbolize the eight remarkable precision records Omega set at the Kew-Teddington and Geneva observatory trials.

This Constellation is powered by the legendary Omega Caliber 564, a self-winding (automatic) movement. This movement is a cornerstone of the Constellation's reputation for exceptional accuracy.

It is an officially certified chronometer, having passed rigorous testing by an official neutral institute (COSC), guaranteeing its precision. A key advanced feature of the Caliber 564 is its quick-set date function. This allows the date to be advanced rapidly by pulling the crown to a dedicated position, a significant convenience that was not yet universal at the time.

Technically, it is a high-beat movement operating at 19,800 vibrations per hour (vph), comprises 24 jewels, and is finished with a protective rhodium plating and elegant Geneva stripes (Côtes de Genève) on the bridges.
