Schöne antike Ikone mit den drei Heiligen Zosima, Basilius und Savvatij

Der Heilige Basilius († 379) war Erzbischof von Kappadokien, christlicher Aufklärer, Asket, kirchlicher Schriftsteller und Theologe. Er erstellte die Regeln für das Mönchsleben der Orthodoxen Kirche mit den Säulen Gehorsam, Gebet und Arbeit.

Der Heilige Savvatij (Sabbatios), Wundertäter von Solovki, hielt sich wahrscheinlich ab 1429 für einige Zeit als Einsiedler auf der Insel von Solovki auf, starb allerdings auf dem Festland am 27. September 1435. Ungefähr ein Jahr nach dessen Tod kam Zosima 1436 auf die Insel und begründete eine Mönchsgemeinschaft, er ließ die Gebeine von Savvatij 1471 auf die Insel überführen.

Der Heilige Zosima (Zosimas, * ~1415, † 17. April 1478) ließ sich bei dem Heiligen Eremiten Hermann ca. 1436 auf der einsamen Insel von Solovki nieder, wo er bald in einer Vision eine prachtvolle Kirche (die Kathedrale des zukünftigen Klosters) erblickte. Er wird als Patron der Fischer, der Bienenzüchter und der Kranken verehrt, weshalb viele Krankenhauskirchen nach ihm benannt wurden.

Savvatij und Zosima gelten als Gründer des Klosters der Verklärung Christi, das eines der geschichtlich bedeutsamsten Klöster Russlands ist.

Diese Ikone ist Teil einer großen gepflegten Privatsammlung seit den 1980er Jahren mit über 70 Stücken aus Russland und Griechenland. Alle Ikonen wurden professionell aufbereitet (gereinigt etc.) und detailliert dokumentiert.
