Exceptional deluxe artist’s book published in 1972 by Éditions A. Mazo (Paris) and Leon Amiel (New York), printed by Fequet et Baudier on fine vélin d’Arches paper, and illustrated with 25 original lithographs by some of the most important modern masters of the 20th century. 
All lithographs were printed at the legendary Mourlot ateliers in Paris, known for their collaboration with Picasso, Chagall, Miró, Matisse, Braque and many others. The volume contains the memoirs of Fernand Mourlot and a foreword by Jacques Prévert, offering a rare insider’s view of the relationships between the master printer and the artists he worked with.

Edition and number: This is copy no. 347 from the official edition of 800 numbered examples. 

Unique provenance feature: This particular copy bears two handwritten dedications:

On the introductory page, Fernand Mourlot himself dedicates the volume to Madame Sybette Riahi-Briotet, expressing his warm regards and personal note.

On the André Minaux lithograph (La femme et l’oiseau), André Minaux has added his own dedication and signature to the same recipient, making this a double-signed and dedicated volume — an exceptionally rare occurrence in the market for this title.

Condition: Complete with all 25 lithographs in excellent condition, with bright and unfaded colours. Wide margins preserved. Original linen-covered slipcase and chemise in very good condition, with only light signs of age. Pages are crisp and clean, bindings tight.

Significance and rarity: While the standard numbered edition is already highly collectible, a copy bearing two autograph dedications, one by the master printer Fernand Mourlot and another by a contributing artist, is exceptionally rare. This combination elevates the piece beyond a standard deluxe artist’s book into the category of a personalised, documented artefact of the post-war Parisian art world.
